A Time for Change

Image
"In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer" Albert Camus

Today is the shortest day of the year, also known as the winter solstice when the days start to get longer and the nights shorter. Winter solstice has a significant cultural meaning around the world and throughout history. The cultural significance varies, but in general it refers to a time of rebirth and renewal and is celebrated with festivals and rituals.

For most people the start of a New Year marks a time for starting afresh. Instead of waiting until January 1st to make personal resolutions and set goals for the New Year, why not commit to taking one small step each day (starting today) to positively changing Your Career & Life in 2012. Don't delay or procrastinate about what changes you're going to make, at first keep it simple & start now....."Whatever you dream you can do - begin it.
Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
Begin it now." (Goethe)

Describe Your "Ideal" Weekend

Image
The weekend provides the time to unwind after a hectic week - Right? Unfortunately most people use the weekend to do all the "urgent" tasks they didn't get to complete during the week, packing in as much as possible leaving little time to relax and rejuvenate.

Spending the weekend doing at least a couple of the things that bring joy into our lives can help reduce stress levels, improve sleeping patterns and develop ideas & goals, which helps concentration levels and focus when dealing with more difficult tasks and challenges during the week.

How would you describe your "ideal" weekend?
Your unique answers to the following questions will help you visualize it clearly:
Where would you be?Who would you be with? What would you be doing? What makes your "ideal" weekend unique?
Here's 20 ideas....Choose one or create your own and get started now!

1. Is it detrimental to your health to dwell on your regrets and if so why?
Anything from relationship regrets, health regrets, career regrets, financial regrets and parenting regrets can dominate our daily thoughts and drain us of energy. Regret is a powerful emotion, which everyone deals with differently. It is a negative reaction to past experiences, behaviours and reactions. Regret can influence what you believe about yourself and create a distorted picture in your mind over …

2011 - Make it a Positive Year

Image
Tips for a Positive Year!
- Take a 10-30 minute walk every day and while you walk, smile.
- Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
- When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, “My purpose is to … today.”
- Live with the 3 E’s… Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy, and the 3 F’s … Faith, Family, Friends.
